Mathew brings with him vast experience in the field of sea trade particularly import and export. An Engineer by profession he did his Masters in Business Administration from Cochin University and has also undergone training at Harward University on management reforms in Public enterprise.

He was invited to attend the International Plant protection seminar at Brighton, England. Mathew was the Managing Director of a Public Sector Undertaking in Cochin. Mathew was a Member of Academic Council of Cochin University of Science and Technology. He has served as the President of Kerala Management Association and Chairman of National Safety Council. He has also served as the Vice Chairman of Kerala State Productivity Council.


Sivankutty is a Master Mariner. He started his life at sea by joining the Indian Navy. Later he joined the Shipping Corporation of India and obtained Mates in 1982 and Master Mariner Certificate in 1985. His first command was is 1988 on MV Tipu Sultan, a passanger Vessel plying between Cochin and Lakshadweep. During his 33 years stint with Shipping Corporation of India, Sivankutty had commanded several types of vessels including passanger, cargo, research, High Speed Water Jet Catamaran etc.


Gopinath is a partner of Menon & Pai, Advocates, one of the leading law firm in South India. After completing his LL.B, he completed his LL.M at the University of Cambridge. Gopinath was a fully funded Scholar at Cambridge having been awarded the prestigious Cambridge Commonwealth Scholarship for Post Graduate study at the University of Cambridge.

Gopinath is a Honorary fellow of the Cambridge Commonwealth Society. He was a Pegasus Scholar at the Inner Temple and as such had the opportunity to work with leading Barrister Chambers in London and also to work with Judges at the Commercial Court (High Court) in London.

V.B.HARI NARAYAN LL.M (Southampton)

Hari is a partner of United Maritime Law Chambers, Cochin a full fledged admiralty law firm in Kerala. Hari completed his LL.B in Kerala and read his Masters in Maritime Law (LL.M) at the University of Southampton. He has an active practice in both contentious and non contentious shipping matters.

Hari has served as a faculty for training Judges from the Federal Capital Territory High Court of Nigeria on the topic 'Commercial Arbitration' held at Dubai during 2008. Hari is a member of Young International Arbitration Group (YIAG) a body of young arbitrators affiliated to London Court of International Arbitration. He is also a member of British Insurance Law Association. He has worked with some of the leading maritime lawyers in London.


Viju is a partner of United Maritime Law Chambers, Cochin handling maritime related issues including maritime arbitrarion. After completing his LL.B, Viju did his Post Graduate Diploma in Alternate Dispute Resolution (Arbitration & Mediation). He started practice as a lawyer with his father who had extensive practice practically on all fields of law.

Viju has represented the Government of Kerala before the High Court of Kerala. He has also served as the Secretary of Kerala High Court Advocates Association for one full term. Viju is also a Notary Public appointed by the Government of India. He is a member of several professional bodies.

RAJESH NANDAKUMAR B.Tech (Marine Engineering)

After obtaining his graduate degree in Marine Engineering from the prestigeous Directorate of Marine Engineering Training, Calcutta, Rajesh embarked on a sea going career spanning for more than 6 years serving on bulk carriers, Oil tankers and Container Vessels. Rajesh is a certified Marine Engineer Office Class I (Motor) and was promoted to the rank of Chief Engineer in 2001. Later Rajesh worked for a Hong Kong based Ship management Company as its Deputy General Manager handling a wide range of claims. He is currently the General Manager of Synergy Marine Pte, Singapore.


Chandran started his career in the Shipping Industry by joining the Clearing & Forwarding and Steamer Department of Aspinwall & Co; in the year 1982. In the year 1987, Chandran obtained Fellowship from the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, United Kingdom. Thereafter Chandran left Aspinwall and started Nat Chart Pvt.Ltd a company having operations in all the major ports in South India. He has wide experience in the field of ship chartering and handling bulk vessels. He is a member of the Indian Council of Arbitration.


After graduating in Law from the Govt.Law College, Ernakulam Pradeep joined Hanjin Shipping, a South Korean based Shipping Company in the year 1996. Pradeep has more than 15 years of experience in the field of liner services and is presently heading the sales department of a Multi National Liner Operator in Cochin.
